Chris currently lives in Folsom, in Northern California.
Chris has always enjoyed and studied art, drawing and painting. Even as a child, she did charcoal drawings for friends, family, and others. For the past 20 years, Chris has focused on oil painting, mostly with palette knife, along with brushes and scrapers.
She is an active member of the Folsom Art Association, and the El Dorado Hills Art Association, where she currently is the Vice President.
While Chris mostly does commissions to order, her paintings have been selected for juried shows.
Color is what drives her painting. People have said she has a good use of color. She layers and blends colors to get a pleasing composition with rhythm, balance and energy, where colors play together in harmony. Chris has taken lessons and enjoys oil painting in a variety of styles, primarily impressionist and abstract. Her paintings reflect love, color, spirit, peace and energy. She finds inspiration from the beauty of nature, sunsets, the sea, and space.
One goal in painting is to help people, so this year 100% of all proceeds is being donated to Folsom’s hope, helping children with reading and mentorship, to American Cancer Society, and to a local food bank.
